Science Spectrum

I took Ashlynn to the Lubbock Science Spectrum yesterday, August 19th. It's a 3 floor hands on science center for kids. It's not at all what I had pictured, but something I have learned "This is Lubbock. Don't set your expections of ANYTHING high. You WILL be dissappointed!"

Anyway, the bottom floor of the building is all native texas species of animails, mainly fish. Here is Ashlynn checking out one of the aquariums.

They had this bubble machine. You pushed the lever down and a big bubble floated to the top of one of the tubes of water. We raced our bubbles..she won every time.

She was SOO excited to get to play with dominos! Just like Papa and Mammy's! I had to practially drag her on to the next thing. I think I know what she wants for Christmas! *wink*wink*

Brushing the big teeth! She was very concerned that the teeth were a little "dirty" ( the white finish of the teeth was starting to wear off ). The owner of these teeth really needs to get to the dentist ASAP!!

Let me tell you it was NOT easy getting her to sit on that tooth!! She was sure that the mouth was going to close while she was sitting there and chew her up!

And this was the highlight of the enitre day. The "checker" game. She could have sat there any played that game all day long if I would have let her! Next time we won't pay the admission to get into the place..we'll just sit in the lobby and play chess!

Ashlynn's 3rd Birthday!

Our little baby is growing up so fast! I cannot believe that she is 3 already! She had a 'Dora the Explorer' birthday party. She found the Dora things in the Birthday Express catalog and nothing I could say would change her mind!

Here is the Birthday Girl with her Happy Birthday Dora!

She was so excited to get that silly thing! We had to blow it up at least a dozen times in the 2 weeks before her party.

At some point she had a party hat on each pigtail.

I dont have any pictures of that though..and I dont know why?

This is the gift that Steven and I got her for her birthday. She loved playing with the train at the doctors office and when we went to 'A Day Out With Thomas'. She loves her train! We had to do alot of rearranging of furniture to make it fit! But it does, and she's happy so thats all that matters!

"My 'bestfriends' came to visit me!"

Ashylnn's 'bestfriends' came to visit for her birthday! Papa and Auntie stayed for 4 days and Mammy stayed for 2 weeks. Ashlynn had alot of fun and was very sad when they had to go home : ( But she is very excited to go visit in Washington on the 9th of September!

Here we are at the Buddy Holly Center in Lubbock.

Ashlynn posing for Auntie's camera. She was so excited to have them here and to show off her new house.

The only she was not happy about was Papa putting his things in her bathroom. In her words " that was NOT very nice!"

Ashlynn and her "bestfriend" Mammy. When it was time for Papa and Auntie to leave she wanted Mammy to go and Auntie to stay. Haha. But she was over that quick and was excited to have Mammy stay a couple of more weeks. She was very sad that Mammy had to go back home to "give my Nate a spanking..he's a BAAAADD boy!!

Finally an Upate!

I know I have been MIA for a while, sorry! I have alot of pictures and stuff to post so I will be doing that tonight.and maybe a little tomorrow.

This is Ashlynn's new kitty 'Veda'. She got her as a kind of early birthday present. We got the name 'Veda' from the movie "My Girl". It suited her well for a while..now something more along the lines of 'Lucifer' or 'Satan' would fit her better. ( kidding of course! )

She loves her, but she has to be reminded all the time to "be gentle" and "how would you like it if I pulled your tail?!"

I think we have a future professional bowler on our hands!

We went bowling this evening. Me, personally, I am terrible at bowling. I don't think that I have ever broke 100. Ashlynn on the other hand..she's great! Obviously she had bumpers on her lane..but she went out there, put the ball right by the foul line, and rolled it as hard as she could! One time she even kicked the bowling ball! This is her and Daddy bowling, he helped her a few time just to get the ball moving a little faster..she would start the roll then he would nudge it a little to get it down the lane in less than 5 minutes!

I don't have any good pictures of her looking at the camera..there was just too much going on in this place for her to hold still long enough to smile for the camera!

Here she is bowling all by herself! She bowled 3 games..only missing one turn for a potty break. She did awsome! She learned to stay behind the line while other people took their turn, and that she had to wait for her ball to come out of the thingy ( I have no idea what that machine is called ) and look! She even has her own little rented bowling shoes!

Here is the score card after our 3rd and final game. The top is Aleah Steven's friend's daughter, then Chris Steven's friend, then me, the Steven, and Ashlynn bowled last.
Yes, you are reading it correctly. Ashlynn beat us ALL. 123?! Are you kidding me? I have never bowled that good in my life! She even got a strike and a spare in that game! And she did it all by herself!

I love these pigtail buns! They look so cute on her don't you think?! I told her I was going to do buns and she said "buns? what means that Momma?!"

We were getting ready to go to dinner for my birthday. We went to this deli that seriously has the BEST tomato-basil soup I have ever had in my life! Yum!!

Ashlynn when she wakes in the morning!
She found that weird pink ball in the dollar section at Target and HAD to have it! Personally I think its kind of icky, but whatever.

She came out of her playroom like this! "Do I look Boo-full Momma?!" As you may or may-not be able to tell she has purple lipstick all over her face!

I had to wash her carseat. She had a cherry artic rush from Dairy Queen and we were almost home..I turned the corner and she gasped! She spilled slushy ALL OVER the back of the car and her seat! Thank goodness for leather interior! But her seat was bright red..I sprayed it with stain remover and most of it came out, thank goodness. The stuff stained her legs and hands! She had bright pink blobs all over her for like 2 days! Anyway..I had just put the carseat back together after washing it..and I went in the other room..a minute later I hear her saying "HELP!" she had buckled herself into her car seat and couldn't get back out! What a goof-ball!

Ashlynn and I getting ready to go swimming! Papa got her a cool new pool. It's inflatabel and about 2-3 feet deep on one side and it has an inflateable slide into a smaller pool at the bottom! There is a seat in the deeper end so I can sit in the water with her and cool off! All 3 of us were in it the other day! She's getting daring on the slide too! She will go down head first, backwards..pretty much whatever you tell her to try! She loves it! Thank you for buying it for us Papa!

We are now offically bloggers!

Since I have so much time on my hands, and I am constantly forgetting to put someone on my email list when I email pictures, I figured I would try blogging! That way I can keep everyone updated and informed on what goes on in our un-eventful lives! I will post pictures and other updates of what we are doing and some funny stories of things Ashlynn does daily! Like the other day when she told me she wants Oxiclean for her birthday! Lol! She saw the commerical and said "Momma, I want that for my birthday, if that for big girls like me?!"

Anyway, check back often. I will try to keep this updated and as un-boring ( if that's even a word ) as possible!
